Interaction with the Foundation

First, so far as support for Kelso High School, and any other organisations, formal or informal, in Kelso and its surrounding hinterland which are dedicated to the advancement of education, sport, the arts, heritage and culture, is concerned, the Trustees of the Foundation would welcome input from anyone interested in the promotion of good old Kelsae. By “input” we mean not only donations, but help, comments and so on. We can assure you that every penny donated will be applied to charitable purposes: no administration costs of any sort will be deducted. I (John Cawthorn) carry those in full.

Secondly, referring to the Russell Cawthorn Collection at St. Andrews University, if anyone out there has any book or books with any relevance to World War 1 – meaning a written publication of any sort – which they would like to loan, or donate, to the Collection, please contact us.

The link to the University Library web-site which refers to the Collection is:

Any books donated will be loaned to the Foundation. There is a general Agreement between the Foundation and the University that all items in the Collection are on permanent loan but if any are required for return that is what will happen. Such books would carry an attribution to the source they come from. So, if you have anything which you prize and feel is worth keeping, please do consider allowing your item/s to be incorporated in the Collection. It is on the way to becoming regarded as one of the primary collections of the printed word, in the shape of books, on the Great War in the whole of the United Kingdom; our aim is to extend that (beneficial) notoriety further afield.
